Tim Ford, CEO

Tim Ford is the CEO of Randolph Health. He became CEO on the acquisition date of July 1, 2021 by American Healthcare Systems. He began work with American Healthcare Systems in February, 2021.

Tim Ford has over 30 years of senior-level healthcare executive experience. He has advanced skills and experience in operations leadership, cost reduction strategies, service line development, innovative rural healthcare models, transformational leadership, organizational development, construction management, strategic planning, compliance and legal affairs. He also has expertise in the development of an integrated value-based model participating in a statewide next generation Accountable Care Organization (ACO).

Tim worked as a regional vice-president with Glidenet Healthcare, which assists large integrated delivery network clients to achieve their financial goals by integrating value assessment, opportunity development and program execution to bring about time compression and savings optimization at the lowest possible cost.

Tim was the CEO of a health system in northern New England for over five years, CEO of a system hospital for over six years and Senior Vice-President at a regional referral hospital for over 18 years in northwestern North Carolina. While working in North Carolina, Tim served as adjunct faculty in the Health Care Management program at Appalachian State University for over 21 years. Tim is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Tim earned a Master of Science in Public Health (Health Policy and Administration) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Science in Business and Public Administration (Health Services Administration) from the University of Arizona.

Angela Burgess, Vice President of Operations and

Chief Information Officer

Angela Burgess has more than 30 years of diverse healthcare experience including operations, finance, and information technology. In her current executive role, Angela Burgess provides leadership to the organization for strategic decisions regarding information technology and systems, information system’s security, telecommunications, data analytics, pharmacy, supply chain, laboratory services, facility services, emergency preparedness, and special projects.

Prior to her role as CIO, Angela served as the Senior Director of Financial Services. Her management responsibilities included Decision Support, Budgeting and Reimbursement, Health Information Management, Supply Chain and Patient Access. Prior to joining Randolph Health, Angela Burgess spent nine years in healthcare consulting with Premier in Charlotte, NC.

Angela has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University and a Master in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is a member of ACHE, CHIME, and HIMSS. Angela was recognized in 2017 by Health Data Management as one of the Most Powerful Women in Healthcare IT. In 2017, 2018 and 2019 Angela was included in Becker’s Healthcare list of Community Hospital CIO’s to Know.

Dr. Sidney Blake, Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Sidney Blake, Chief Medical Officer, joined the Randolph Health team in March 2022. He is responsible for medical staff governance, credentialing, peer review processes and medical staff affairs. Dr. Blake has been in internal medicine for over 30 years. He has provided medical care in a number of different settings including hospital-owned outpatient physician practice, privately-owned outpatient physician practice and hospital based inpatient practice. He is a member of Open Source MD (OSMD) serving as a hospitalist at Randolph Health.

Dr. Blake works with all hospital-based contracted physician groups and is aligning the medical staff to work jointly to improve access to care, increase quality metrics and create a collegial environment that supports excellent patient outcomes.

Dr. Blake, board certified in internal medicine, received his medical degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC.
